Dawn and dusk are two of my favourite times of day (others include bedtime and wine o'clock). It's worth getting up early on a frosty winter morning or going out on a chilly autumn evening to see skies like this. Living where I do, I'm pretty spoilt in terms of location for shooting this sort of scene, but Hatchet Pond near Beaulieu is definitely a favourite…absolutely LOVE those reflections! It gets pretty busy during the day owing to its status as popular picnic, walking and birding spot, so I tend to steer clear unless it's sun-up or sundown. Despite there being fewer visitors in the evening the local livestock are ever-present and a donkey tried to steal the lens cloth from my pocket the last time I was there. Cheeky!
